As part of any recruitment process, Show Business Interiors Ltd collects and processes personal data relating to job applicants. We are committed to being transparent about how we collect and use that data and to meeting our data protection obligations.
Your personal data is data which, by itself or in conjunction with other data available to us, can be used to identify you. Show Business Interiors Ltd, is the data controller, which means that we will determine the purposes for processing your personal data and the manner in which processing is carried out. This Privacy Notice describes how we will use your data obtained during the recruitment process.

Data storage and international transfers
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.
We may transfer your data outside of the UK and the European Economic Area.
Whenever we transfer your personal data out of the EEA, we do our best to ensure a similar or improved degree of security of data by ensuring at least one of the following safeguards is implemented:
We will only transfer your personal data to countries that have been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data by the European Commission; or
Where we use certain service providers, we may use specific contracts or codes of conduct or certification mechanisms approved by the European Commission which give personal data the same protection it has in Europe; or
Where we use providers based in the United States, we may transfer data to them if they are part of the EU-US Privacy Shield which requires them to provide similar protection to personal data shared between the Europe and the US.
If none of the above safeguards is available, we may request your explicit consent to the specific transfer. You will have the right to withdraw this consent at any time.
The legal basis and purposes for using your personal data

a) For good managing and auditing of the recruitment process;
b) To assess and confirm a candidate's suitability for employment and decide to whom to offer a job
2. To perform a contract as agreed with you, e.g.:
a) To decide whether to enter into the contract;
b) to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract with you; and
c) To update your records;
d) To contact you about any proposed contract with us
3. To comply with a legal obligation, e.g.:
a) When you exercise any of your rights under data protection legislation;
b) For compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, For example, it is mandatory to check a successful applicant's eligibility to work in the UK before employment starts;
c) For the establishment and defence of legal rights;
d) For activities related to the prevention, detection and investigation of crime;
4. Upon receipt of your consent, e.g.
a) When we process any special categories of personal data about you, such as your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, and religious beliefs. For example, Show Business Interiors Ltd may process special categories of data, such as information about ethnic origin, sexual orientation or religion or belief, to monitor recruitment statistics. We may also collect information about whether or not applicants are disabled to make reasonable adjustments for candidates who have a disability.
Sharing your personal data
Your information may be shared internally for the purposes of the recruitment exercise. This includes members of the HR and recruitment team, interviewers involved in the recruitment process, managers in the business area with a vacancy and IT staff, if access to the data is necessary for the performance of their roles.
During the recruitment process, we will not share any data relating to your job application with third parties, unless your application for employment is successful and we make you an offer of employment. We will then share your data with former employers to obtain references for you, and in some cases employment background check providers to obtain necessary background checks.
If you choose to accept the offer of employment, you will be issued with a new Privacy Notice, detailing our responsibilities as your employer.

Making a complaint
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. It has enforcement powers and can investigate compliance with data protection laws. You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide data to Show Business Interiors Ltd during the recruitment process. However, if you do not provide the information, we may not be able to process your application properly or at all.
Data anonymisation and aggregation
Your personal data may be converted into statistical or aggregated data which means that you cannot be identified. This anonymised data will then be used to produce statistical reports and may be shared and used in all the ways described in this Policy.
The retention of your data
Show Business Interiors Ltd may keep your personal data on file in case there are future employment opportunities for which you may be suited. We will ask for your consent before it keeps your data for this purpose and you are free to withdraw your consent at any time.
If your application for employment is unsuccessful, the organisation will hold your data on file for 6 (six) months after the end of the relevant recruitment process. If you agree to allow us to keep your personal data on file, we will hold your data on file for a further 6 (six) months for consideration for future employment opportunities. At the end of that period, or once you withdraw your consent, your data is deleted or destroyed.
If your application for employment is successful, personal data gathered during the recruitment process will be transferred to your Human Resources file and retained during your employment. The periods for which your data will be held will be provided to you in your new privacy notice.
